Dr. Jennifer Brandon

Jenni has been working in the world of climate and pollution for over a decade. Her PhD is in microplastic pollution and her postdoc focused on communicating science to the public. She has experience in research, consulting, government contracting, teaching, public speaking, nonprofit grants, and impact investing.

Our Vision

We want to take donating and investing in the world of climate change from a sense of feeling overwhelmed to a sense of empowerment and optimism.

Climate change is affecting every part of the world as we know it, and it can be daunting to think of how we need to adapt to it. But it can also be incredibly exciting to dream about how we get to shape the new world we are building - how we can shape it to be more efficient, more thoughtful, and more renewable than it was before. It’s also incredibly hopeful to witness the entrepreneurs and nonprofits working on brilliant solutions to today’s pressing problems.

Why the name Wild Beacon Consulting

We chose Wild because fighting climate change truly can feel like the wildest of the wild west, and we’re here to help guide you on this wild journey. But also because wild is the goal: keeping the existing wilderness wild while also re-wilding the nature we have already lost.

And Beacon because a beacon can be a siren that something has gone horribly wrong, or a light to guide us when we don’t know where we’re headed – which is how a lot of us feel as we face the changing climate future. And most importantly, it can be a beacon of hope. There is hope in the tomorrow we can build together. But it’s also named for Beacon’s Beach, a local beach in Encinitas, California, where Wild Beacon Consulting calls home. Because we all need that little piece of nature that’s worth fighting for.
